THE SURROUNDINGS OF ALCUDIA.

Outside of Alcudia,but inside the local district,there is Port d´Alcudia with its recently modernized nice promenade thanks to the “plan of highest quality” changing it into a wide pedestrian area,into a commercial and leisure avenue.On the promenade you´ll find shops for all tastes:perfumeries,gifts,shoe shops,clothes boutiques,jeweller,banks,… and restaurants specialized in international and regional cuisine,as well.

*It is worth to visit Cave de Sant Martí which is located at about 4 kmfrom the town of Alcudia.It is a natural cave and has two medieval altars dedicated to Sant Martí and Sant Jordi.To visit the cave you can collect the key from the town hall of Alcudia in (Autumm and Winter) and from the Tourist Information Bureau (during spring and summer).

*L’Albufereta. Is located at about 2 km from Alcudia near the way that goes from Alcudia to Port de Pollença. It is one of the most ecological important marshland in the Balearen Islands.

*The Victòria Hermitage, located in a setting of unique natural beauty,is situated at about 7 km from the town.It is a small Baroque church and has a single nave covered by a semicircular cannon arch.Above the altarpiece of the main altar stands a carven wooden statue in the Gothic style of the Mother of God de la Victoria,dating from the 15th century.

*Penya del Migdia.
From the hermitage of Victoria,at about 3 km,there is situated the Penya del Migdia,a natural place where the panorama reaches the bay of Pollença and Cap Formentor,and on a cloudless day,even Menorca.

*La Talaia.
Following the path of Victoria upwards, you´ll reach the “Talaia” the highest mountain of Alcudia with a hight of 444m. From there you can distinguish nearly the whole district of Alcudia.
